The Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction Program of Rural Society Development Association (RSDA) works with flood- and river erosion–affected communities in Kurigram to reduce disaster risks and strengthen local resilience. Through community mobilization, RSDA forms disaster management committees, conducts participatory risk assessments, and develops community response plans. The program builds local capacity through training on early warning systems, evacuation, first aid, search and rescue, and gender-sensitive humanitarian response, enabling communities—especially women and vulnerable groups—to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters effectively.
